Abstract

|
The lymphocytes isolated from peripheral bloods of twenty normal persons were examined for natural killer(NK) cell activity. The results are follows.
When the ratios of effectors cell(lyinphocyte) and target cell(K-562 cell) were at 10:1, 20:1, and 40:1, the percentages of 51Cr release were 14%, 35%, and 56%, respectively. There was not any marked change in the percentage of 51Cr release according to the reaction time.
The percentages of 51Cr release were in the range of 13.7 to 56.2%. And the frequency of positive cells against anti Leu7 monoclonal antibody(HNK-1+ cell) were in the range of 7.9 to 28-o% However there was no relationship between these two parameters. The mean frequency of HNK-1+ cells was 16.5% and the mean percentage of 51Cr release was 38.3%. In both tests, the NK activity in male was higher than in female. Especially, mean value of the anti Leu7 positive cell frequencies appeared significantly higher in male (P<0.05).
